The Outcome: The BG5k rip detector is a non-contact solution for detecting rips that coincide with a belt dimension change and is belt manufacturer agnostic. Designed to be installed after each load point at several locations along the conveyor to provide rip detection, belt edge condition monitoring and real time total belt tracking position on the structure.

Maintenance

The BG5k equipment is virtually maintenance free as sensors are self-cleaning when powered, and any unlikely fugitive material may be brushed or wiped from the sensor face periodically.
